Peregrination
My first time posting something, tell me what you think.
I opened my newly bought foundation from MAC and hoped that I wouldn’t have to go back to find another shade. Of course I had my own, but with my fair skin, the color would make him look like a drag queen, and that was not the objective. Loose powder dropped onto my worn in pair of black boots, leaving a pile of ivory colored dust. As I tried to wipe away the stain, my hands shook. Over the past couple weeks, so much has been accomplished on this vacation, and going to Russia was number two on my list. Once I made sure the stain was gone, I continued to brush the foundation onto his skin, covering every flaw that made him unique.
Stepping back to examine my work, his strong cheek bones taunted me; telling me that I wasn’t even close to being done. I grabbed the bag lying on top of the sofa and reached in searching for an ’easy button’, this was not going to be that simple. Holding my breathe, I gently glided red gloss across his soft, delicate lips. This was not the first time I had been this close to him, but the tension was mounting between us faster than the dust piling up on my coffee table back home. Staring into his almond shaped eyes, I had to catch my breath for a second, I never realized how intriguing his eyes were. They were an unusual color; one that I was never able to define before. It was close to mine; a blue and green blend, but the center was a vast difference. A shade of yellow was ringed around the inner section of his eyes, making him unique and special, unlike anyone else I have ever met.
Snapping quickly back into reality and the situation at hand, I set down the eye brightening mascara, which I obviously did not need to use. His eyes shimmered; making every speck of color stand out as an individual. With his extra long brown lashes, he gave every girl a reason to buy fake eyelashes; none would compare. I blushed, realizing that I could not stop staring at each detail of his face. I whispered in his ear telling him to close his eyes; the room was silent and disturbing the peace or moment would not be an option. He gave me a mischievous grin and closed his eyes, obviously trusting that I knew what I was doing. Placing a brown eye shadow that had specks of gold was my most ingenious choice I had made the whole day. The color popped against his skin tone and when he opened his eyes, they stood out even more than before; if that’s possible.
Staring into the mirror that was placed beside the bed, I could see his white teeth starting to pop out from behind his shimmered covered red lips. It turned into a full smile and I also joined in with a toothy grin. I placed my hand onto his shoulder and complimented his face, it looked well, different. His body started shaking as he tried to hold back his laughter. We both burst out into a fit of laughter, with tears coming from my eyes, I was thankful that neither of us had mascara on; it would be a mess. Both of us on the floor, he finally stood up and held out his hand. With his firm grip and strength, I was easily hoisted to my feet. His eyes wandered towards the mirror, taking in every new, unfamiliar detail. He glanced over in my direction and smiled. No words were needed, no explanation was needed. I could tell from his eyes that he was shocked and as pleased as he could be with his transformation.
I grabbed the blue, detailed dress from the closet and placed it up against my body. Reminiscing on the first night I wore this, my eyes glistened remembering the extravagant night in Pairs. It was our first stop on our journey across Europe and by far the most memorable. We arrived on a Tuesday night, the whole sky was dark, not a single star in sight but the lights from the city lit up the whole sky. With a cold crisp breeze blowing my hair into my eyes, I pushed it back; there was no chance that I would miss a moment of this trip. I knew deep down that this trip was going to be all I dreamed it to be. Ever since I can remember, I have wanted to travel the world, especially Europe. I was going to be with the three people I felt the closest to. They were like brothers to me and when we all were together, the fantastic four, I couldn’t hold myself back from smiling.
