Step 1: First and foremost decide where you want to mount your pegboard. Once you have decided that, while mounting, make sure you leave enough space behind the surface of the board. This is because the hooks or pegs which are to be inserted through the holes in the board would be hooked from behind.

Step 2: The next step in installing the pegboard is to mark the locations of the wall studs. This is done in order to mount the board support strips on the wall. Once located, with the help of a level draw a horizontal line on the wall for further guidance.

Step 3: Herein we will form a framework for the board, so following the mark on the wall, mount a horizontal strip of wood to the wall using wood screws. Force the screws into the studs to provide support and likewise try to install other strips including vertical strips across the center region to create the framework supporting the pegboard.

Step 4: Calculate the measurements of the pegboard and accordingly cut the board material with a jigsaw. After cutting, mount the pegboard to the prepared framework using wood screws and a cordless drill with screw driver.

Step 5: Finally, once the pegboard is mounted properly, put the hooks in the holes and then hang your tools or other accessories. In case you forget which tool goes where, you can draw an outline around your hanging tools or can number them according to their hanging places.
