Peace - From Increased Awareness of Self

Today when world is devoid of peace, there are conflicts in most parts of the world. How can we increase self awareness to achieve peace in our world.
That the world is devoid of peace is no exaggeration. Most parts of the world today reports lost of conflicts. When you watch TV on daily basis, you just end up with depression because there is rarely any good news. Of course we know that the media will only sell the news that sells. But does not that tell you something? That most people are only keen of seeing negative side of the world. There is too much negative energy going round the world. The question would be why such negative energy? What or who will lead to us to true and sustainable peace?

With these many questions, there are many answers that can accompany them. However, in the interest of seeking workable solutions, new innovation with proven success records, we shall consider the one that would address the main source of conflict.

The basic tenet of peace that originates from individuals is based on the assumption that only an individual who is aware of self and the environment can contribute to lasting peace. According to Ilchi lee, lasting peace begins from the inside of individual in a population. The heart and mind has to be in peace in every individual before the peace can reach many other people. The process of trying to create peace should therefore be more targeted at the individuals and not necessarily target political process.

Such peace can only be made through a self soul searching that provides each individual an opportunity to confess what they feel and also listen to others. The result of this soul searching should be forgiveness that allows access into the men’s souls. This is the most powerful position for every man. Where he or she feels vulnerable, and confident enough to expose their weakness and accept others weaknesses.

Meditation and exercises that teach one to be patient such as concentration are what may result in such personalities. The brain is therefore the epitome of this transformation. The brain can be built into various things; it can be made to be violent or peaceful and patient. The brain power is developed through patient means such as learning to breathe in and out and hold.

True peace in the world will be achieved through this increased awareness of each man and women.

Ilchi Lee and other great philosophers such as Mahatma Gandhi have presented to the world the concept of peace that originates from individuals and not just a sum total of the population. I tend to agree with this concept because the sum total of the population is actual the general trend observed from the majority of the people that comprise it.
