Party Planning and Corporate Invitations for your Employees

Make planning your corporate employee event a snap with a few simple steps. While planning a party can be stressful, you can take away some of the stress with these simple tips, tricks and advice.
Planning any party can be stressful. Planning a party for your employees or co-workers can add to that pressure. You don’t have to feel nervous and tense when planning a corporate party for employees. A few simple steps will make your party a success and have your feeling like partying yourself.

Before you send the invitation
Before you actually send out the invitation, you might want to casually ask some co-workers for some ideas about date, location and activity. Make this a covert operation. Don’t mention the party - you’re just gathering information to help you target your party. And also be aware that you’ll get lots of differing opinions and you probably won’t be able to please everyone but you will get lots of great ideas by asking those questions. You should also ask around or look into the previous party. Find out the things that worked or didn’t work so you can be sure to not make the same mistakes. And once you find the things that worked, keep those in mind and you’ll continue to have success with the party.

The invitation
When sending out your corporate invitations, make sure to give employees plenty of time. Remember that many employees may have family commitments or other plans especially around the holidays or the summer. Also make sure you include all the details of the event - time, place, scheduled activities, foods that will be served, whether spouses and children are welcome, parking, special instructions, etc. Giving your guests the most information allows them to come to your event prepared and the best possible time at your event. You can plan surprises, but they should be smaller - raffles, games, etc. So that no one is caught off guard.

You should be sure to send a paper invitation to each employee. An e-invitation is likely to get lost in their in-box among other business related messages. An actual paper invitation can be put on a bulletin board or fridge at home as a reminder of the party. Also, a corporate invitation on paper gives the party an added touch of class.

Activities
While there is no single activity that all employees will love, with a little planning you’ll be able to include fun stuff for most people to do. If your office or company is mostly younger professionals, plan an activity that they would like - movie night, baseball game, etc. If most of your co-workers are family-oriented, make sure to pick and activity that they can bring their children to - a fair or amusement park works perfectly. Chances are you’re office is split down the middle so pick an activity that works well for both. Send your employees a corporate invitation with a rock and roll theme and host ‘Rock Band’ and ‘Guitar Hero’ games. Both are fun games and will appeal to a wide range of audiences.

Don’t forget why you’re celebrating
Your corporate employee party is a great chance to get your office together - large or small - and thank your employees for their hard work and achievement and to motivate your team for the coming months. Start your party on the right foot with a quick ‘thank you’ in your corporate invitation and you’ll have your team in a partying mood right away.

Planning a corporate party doesn’t have to be a headache. If you follow these few simple steps, you’ll be on your way to a great party that all - including you - will enjoy.
