Sausage Rolls

Ingredients
  • 500 g pork and veal or chicken and herb sausages
  • ½ cup fresh white breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg, plus 1 egg extra, lightly beaten
  • ½ small onion, chopped
  • Sesame seeds, to sprinkle
  • 80 ml (⅓ cup) milk
  • 2 sheets frozen puff pastry, just thawed
  • Tomato sauce (ketchup), to serve

Sausage rolls are a hit for toddlers birthday parties and even adults birthday parties! To make sausage rolls, take a bowl and add milk along with breadcrumbs to it. Let the milk get completely absorbed by the breadcrumbs. Remove casings from sausages and then place them in a blender along with egg, breadcrumbs, and onion. Blend until well combined, refrigerate for about 30 minutes to chill. Place one sheet of pastry on a lightly floured flat surface, cut it into two, horizontally. Add a spoonful of the sausage mixture to the center of each piece of pastry, then fold over the long side. Brush it with the beaten egg then fold other side over, to enclose. Make it into a sausage shape. Repeat the same procedure with the remaining pastry, make 4 rolls. Place the rolls on a baking tray lined with baking paper, make sure that the seam side is down. Cover the sausage and refrigerate for about ½ hour, until firm. Now preheat the oven to 350ºF also line a big baking sheet with non-stick baking paper. Cut the refrigerated rolls into seven, diagonally. Brush the remaining egg, if any, and place on the baking sheet. Make 2 small slits on top of the rolls so that they do not split. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and bake for about 20-25 minutes. Serve warm with tomato sauce.

Meatballs

Ingredients
  • 1 kg lean minced steak
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 pkt chicken noodle soup powder
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1 pkt french onion soup powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup boiling water
Preparation

This is one of the easy party food for kids. Take a medium-sized bowl, mix flour, eggs meat and milk in it, set aside. Take another bowl and add both the soup powders along with water to it, combine well so that lumps aren't formed. Add the soup mixture to the meat mixture, and place a spoonful of this mixture either to a barbecue plate or frying pan. Fry from both sides until brown.

Ice Cream Cake

Ingredients
  • 75 g white marshmallows, chopped
  • 2 X 50 g bars crunchy chocolate crushed
  • 1 Lt. each of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice-cream
  • 2 X 30 g bars milk chocolate, crushed
  • 2 X 45 g packets milk and honey combined chocolates, crushed
Preparation

This is one of the fun party food ideas. Firstly place milk chocolate and ice cream in a large bowl, set aside to soften. When they soften, beat with a wooden spoon until well combined. Spoon this mixture in to a 23 cm round pan, smooth with a spatula. Cover it with a foil and refrigerate until firm. Wash the ice cream bowl and add vanilla ice cream and honey milk chocolate to it, set aside until softened. Now remove the pan from the freezer, sprinkle crunchy chocolate onto it, spoon vanilla ice cream mixture over top and smooth it. Again freeze until firm. Repeat the same procedure with strawberry ice cream and marshmallows. While serving, remove the collar of the cake and decorate with hundreds and thousands.
