Chapter 2

"Hey Matt!" I called to him as we walked in the hall. I ran to catch up with him. "Hey Sarah. What's up?" he asked, taking my books. I giggled and blushed. "Umm, nothing much. Heading towards my most hated class, Math." I sighed. "Wanna ditch?" he asked evilly. "I can't today, the principle is coming to our class." I laughed. "Oh ok. Well then I'll see you after school." he called, as he went into his classroom. I headed towards Math, but soon the popular preppy people came along. This was gonna be a long day. "What are you doing alone, metal head? Why don't you just go and crawl in your little box that you live in?" Larissa laughed. She was the head of the group. "Why don't you go back to the cheap beauty salon where you got your make-up down?" I replied and walked past her. She scoffed and then kept walking. I got into class, sat down, and started the work on the board before the bell even rung. "Well, Ms. Harris. I see you are on time today." Mr. Purruchi pointed out. "Yeah." I sighed as I slid into my seat. Larissa carefully sat in her seat, which happened to be the one across from mine.

She happened to be the reason I was sent out of the classroom on the first day. The teacher started talking and I just drew on my notebook. "What are you drawing?" Cathy, the person next to me, asked. She had black hair with a streak of blue, while her eyes were hazel. "A broken heart on fire." I whispered. And that was what I was drawing. Next to playing guitar, drawing was my favorite thing to do. "That's so cool." she admitted. "Would you like to share that with the class, Sarah?" my teacher yelled. "Umm, not really." I proclaimed. "Well then I suggest you put it away." he sighed, turning back to the board. I put my math notebook in my binder and just played with a lock of my hair.

The principle walked in, his bald head shining like a new penny. "Where's your math notebook?" he whispered to me. "The teacher told me to put it away." I told him. "Jim Purruchi, why did you tell Sarah to put her notebook away and not anybody else? Are you picking favorites? My office, now." he said sternly. Me and Cathy held back our chuckles as our math teacher was pulled out of the classroom. "You are all dismissed." the principle said before his head disappeared. We all cheered when they were gone. I jumped out of my seat and grabbed a piece of paper. I wrote quickly and picked up all my stuff. "Hey Cathy, wanna see that guy I ditched with?" I asked excitedly. "Sure! But how-" I cut her off by telling her, "You'll see." We walked down the hall to his classroom.

"Leave your stuff in my locker." I insisted as I opened it. She shoved her stuff in as I did the same. Then we continued our walk. I knocked on the door and waited with the paper in my hand. An elderly lady with white hair opened the door. "May I help you?" she asked tenderly. I handed her the paper and watched her read it. "Matt, get your stuff." she called. Matt came up and smiled really big when he saw me and Cathy. He grabbed the paper and closed the door behind him. "Hmm, I don't think the principle actually wanted to see me, did he?" he laughed. "Nope. Not at all." I smiled really big and felt his big hand wrap around mine. "Hey, I'm still here 'ya know." Cathy yelled. "Oh, yeah. Cathy this is Matt, Matt this is Cathy." I giggled. "Nice to meet you, Cathy." Matt chuckled as he shook her hand with his free hand. They let go and we kept walking. "Where are we going?" Matt asked. "I was thinking we could just go to the garden." I said.

Matt rubbed his thumb across my hand and then brought it up to his lips and kissed it softly. Cathy opened the door to the garden and held it there for us. We all sat down in the grass, Matt's hand never letting go of mine. "So, what school did you come from, Sarah?" Cathy asked. "Manchester Middle." I answered. "Oh, so you're freshmeat?" Matt chuckled. "Hey, only my friend Cynthia can use that term." I joked. "Well too bad, I'm a junior and I can do whatever I want to." he bragged, then stuck his tongue out at me. I stuck mine out too. "Hey, well I'm gonna head to my next class. See 'ya tomorrow Sarah. Nice meeting you, Matt." she said, waving good-bye and going back inside. We waved back and then lay next to each other under a big oak tree. "What's your favorite colors?" Matt asked. "Black and red." I answered. "I like blue and black." he told me. I turned over to face him, he was lying on his back. "I'm tired." I said randomly. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me closer. I lay my head on his muscular chest and listened to his heartbeat slowly. I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep.

"Sarah, wake up! School's over!" Matt whispered in my ear. My eyes fluttered open and I instantly looked at Matt. His hair was a little messy and his eyes were glazed. We got up and went to his car. "Like it?" he asked when we came up to a silver Porsche. "Hell yeah I do!" I shouted. He unlocked the doors and opened my door for me. I jumped in and so did he. Matt grabbed my hand again and intertwined our fingers together. I smiled big at him as he started the car, and we headed out of the parking lot. The song My Chick Bad came on and I sang along. Matt just laughed, especially when it was Nicki Minaj's part. "You are such a dork." he chuckled. "I know, but you love me anyway." I joked. "Yeah I do." he said, getting serious. The light turned red, so he turned to me. We both leaned in, getting so close I could feel his breath run across my lips.

My heart started beating faster and my breath got caught in my throat. His lips finally touched mine, but only for a second. Still enough for me to feel a small spark. A car horn honked behind us, making us both sigh in defeat. He flicked them off and started driving. "Where are we going?" I asked when more trees started to surround us. "You'll see." he whispered. "Ugh! Why can't you tell me now?!" I whined. "Because, it will ruin the surprise." he laughed. I ripped my hand from his and crossed my arms and made a pouty face. "Well, here we are." he sighed happily. There was a field of grass, and at the end of it was a ledge. "Whoa." I breathed as I got out the car and stepped closer to the ledge. He followed me and grabbed my hand. We both looked down at the same time. I gasped, about a few feet down was a little pond. It had a lot of tiny waterfalls too.

Matt started climbing down and I followed him. We sat on a dry rock and watched as little fish swam through the clear water. "How exactly do you know about this place?" I asked as I looked around the beautiful sight. "My house is right there." he told me, pointing at a small wooden cabin on the other side. I skimmed my fingers against the smooth surface of the water. "Let's go to your house then." I suggested. "You'd have to swim there." he pointed out. "I don't care, let's go." I insisted. We got up and I stripped down to my bra and underwear. I jumped in and looked back at Matt who was still staring at me. The cold hit me like a thousand knives and I shivered. Matt jumped in and swam over to me. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed the top of my head. But before he pulled away, I grabbed him and forced my lips on his. He responded by pulling me closer.

I was in heaven, my heart beating faster and faster and his lips seducing mine. Matt traced my bottom lip with his tongue, making chills go down my spine. I opened my mouth and let our tongues dance together. A small drop of water hit my nose, and I knew I wasn't crying. They started coming down faster, making us soaking wet. Finally, I pulled away and just laughed. Matt joined in soon after. So we stood there, in the pouring rain, laughing about the most wonderful kiss in the universe. What were we laughing about? I have no idea. "Let's go inside." Matt insisted after our laughing calmed down. We both dragged ourselves up the cabin steps and went inside.

"I just love your room." I laughed sarcastically. His room had green walls with a little racecar bed next to a bunk bed. There was a wooden toy box in the corner that was filled with action figures. "Laugh all you want, but I swear that I share a room with my little brother." he stated. "Ok, ok whatever." I said, calming down. He jumped on the top bunk and signaled me to come up with him. I climbed up the wooden ladder and sat down next to him. His lips crushed onto mine, surprising me. I entangled my hand in his hair and pulled him to me. He placed his hands carefully on my waist. "Ewww!" I heard somebody shout. I pulled away and saw a cute little boy, about 10 or 11. "Oh, um, hey Brandon.

This is my friend Sarah." Matt said nervously. "Yeah, ok. 'friend.'" he said as he put down his book bag. "I'm leaving, so you guys can continue being 'friendly'" Brandon said as he backed out the room. "That was... weird." I laughed. "Tell me about it." Matt agreed dramatically. "Hey, do you wanna go out with me on Saturday?" Matt asked. "Sure!" I shouted. "Cool." Matt proclaimed. His lips hit mine and I pulled him closer. His taste was so sweet and addicting. He took my tongue in his mouth and sucked on it. Then, he pushed me down and pulled away, just to go straight for my neck. Matt kissed my neck softly and then pulled away again. "I gotta go." I admitted. "Ok." Matt breathed. I waved at him before walking back home.

"Hey Cynthia! I didn't expect to see you here." I said, confused as I walked into my house. "Well, we haven't talked since the first day of school and it is Friday." she pointed out. "True, true." I laughed and then ran up to her to give her a hug. "So, what's up?" she asked as she fell back onto the couch. "Umm, well I have 2 new friends." I told her, sitting down next to her. "Really? Who are they?" She always got excited over me meeting new people. "Matt and Cathy." I said. "Oh. Sarah's got a boyfriend." she joked. "No, just a very friendly guy friend." I giggled. "Mhm, ok whatever." she laughed. "So what's up with you?" I asked. "Well, I have a couple friends and a 'very friendly guy friend'" she laughed, quoting me. "Oh, and who is this guy?" She blushed and looked at her pink converse. "His name is Chris." she sighed. "Really? That's cool, I'm happy for you." I said truthfully. "Hey well I gotta go do homework, blah, so I'll talk to you later." she laughed. "Ok bye!" I yelled as I hugged her good-bye.
