Well, there are not many scientifically recognized and noted contraindications and interactions of the tea, but there are surely several side effects that cannot be neglected either. However, caution must always be taken while consuming parsley tea to avoid the side effects, if any.

Usage of parsley tea during pregnancy can cause uterine bleeding that can increase the risk of miscarriage. This happens, as already stated earlier, the tea stimulates the blood flow towards the reproductive system, that is the uterus and cervix of the pregnant women. Consumption of parsley tea can also cause muscle contraction of the uterus. It can also cause several allergic reactions to the mucous membrane. Hence, to avoid possibilities of miscarriage and such other side effects, pregnant women must stay away from parsley tea, no matter what the health benefits of parsley tea are.
Other Side Effects
There are several other side effects of parsley tea that are also significant. Many of them occur in case of overdose of the parsley tea. Overdose of parsley tea can lead to headaches, excessive weight loss, bloody stools, nausea, renal damage, loss of balance, confusion, convulsions of muscles, etc. Several substances like psoralen, present in the parsley tea also cause photodermatitis reactions on the body. People who are suffering with kidney diseases are better off the usage of parsley tea. Side effects are also seen in the form of internal bleeding in case of warfarin therapy.
There are several basic things that must be considered before consuming the parsley tea and any herbal product for that matter and that is to get to know that product to perfection. Consumption of parsley tea is beneficial but not for all.
