Paris Hilton Going Conservative for Dubai Reality Show
The third global installment of Paris Hilton's My New BFF will be filmed in Dubai, where the drinking, swearing and debauchery of the first two seasons will not be tolerated.
Who said Paris Hilton has no range as an actress? She's going to be playing it straight in the upcoming season of her hit reality series, while supposedly learning something about a culture other than her own. Paris has likely had producers and handlers constantly in her ear, reminding her that her typical shenanigans are not going to fly in Dubai.
"I wanted to know everything about this place first because I wanted to make sure everything was OK," Hilton told The National newspaper. "I just want to respect everyone here."
Clearly, someone's telling her the right things to say - and she's saying them beautifully. The first two installments of My New BFF were filmed in Los Angeles and London, respectively. During those two seasons, contestants really let their hair down and some of the antics were over the top - even for U.S. and UK reality television.
But now that the show is being filmed in Dubai, producers and Hilton seem to be aware that things are going to change. There is an air of reverence in the Middle East that does not allow for the typical outrageous behavior that accompanies these kinds of shows.
Once filming is complete in a few weeks, the show is set to air on several networks throughout the region. Clearly, Paris will have an audience at home, but how many people in the Middle East are going to have the time or the inclination to watch Paris find her new BFF?
