Khalilian "fired" Hilton after she failed to show up for scheduled appearances at the Club Paris located in downtown, Orlando, Florida. Since Hilton made Khalilian angry he has fired her from being associated with his two venues named Club Paris. She originally showed up six hours late two-years ago for the Orlando location’s grand opening in January 2005. She said at the time, "I was in the Swiss Alps skiing, and I got caught at the airport with all the holiday travel so I’ve been trying to travel for the past 24 hours. I’m so sorry I’m late." Now Khalilian wants his club’s names to refer to the capital of France instead of the heiress.
Khalilian reportedly put out $3 million to open the club with the understanding that Hilton, who did not have a financial part in the club, would make four appearances a year at the club in Orlando. Khalilian reportedly said, "Paris was a friend of mine, and I hoped that this would work out. Unfortunately, she didn’t hold up her end of the bargain, so I had to take action." He went on to say, "She’s created a circus for herself. It’s all about: How has she screwed up now?" He reportedly became even more upset when the club bought the heiress a $450,000 Mercedes last year. What? She couldn’t afford one on her own? Khalilian claims she "didn’t even say thank you." He said, "We gave her a lot of benefits, but she still didn’t do what she needed to do."
The club owner refuses to change the name of his venues located in Orlando and Jacksonville, Florida and originally decided to use Paris as a namesake because she has such a recognizable name. He is reportedly going to hold a contest to find a "new face" for his clubs. Khalilian said, "It’ll be part Apprentic, part American Idol, and part Miss USA. Club Paris will go on, even without Paris Hilton." Hilton’s overworked spokesman, Elliott Mintz, reportedly said, "I’m certainly disappointed to learn of Fred’s unfortunate comments. We shall address his statements at the appropriate time." Mintz also said that Khalilian contacted neither him nor Hilton about her failure to appear at the events. Seriously, if Hilton didn’t have enough courtesy to show up on time for the grand opening of her namesake club why did this guy think that she would make it to any scheduled events?
