Paris Hilton Behind The Wheel

Just days after she was sentenced to jail for violating the terms of her probation for driving on a suspended license, Paris Hilton is back behind the wheel.

It turns out that Hilton is now legally allowed to drive again after her license was suspended in November, it was officially reinstated by the Department of Motor Vehicles in March. A DUI attorney, Lawrence Taylor, reportedly weighed in on the topic telling People, "If her license was reinstated, she's perfectly okay to drive despite her probation violation. There's no problem with that."

Hilton was sentenced to 45-days in jail after she was found guilty of violating her probation stemming from her January conviction for alcohol-related reckless driving. The heiress was pulled over for speeding with her lights off in February. Prosecutors went after her despite her claims of not knowing that her license was suspended. Sources claim that they just wanted to make a statement that no one is above the law in Los Angeles…even Paris Hilton.

Hilton’s lawyer said she is "ready to face the consequences" and released the following statement on her behalf: "After reading the media's coverage of my court hearing, I feel the need to correct what I believe are misperceptions about me. I absolutely realize how serious driving under the influence is. I could not live with myself if anyone was injured or killed while I was driving while impaired. Clearly, no one should – no matter how slightly. I am ready to face the consequences of violating probation. No one is above the law. I surely am not. I do not expect to be treated better than anyone else who violated probation. However, my hope is that I will not be treated worse." Hilton is expected to begin her sentence on June 5. A source said that she is definitely going to serve some time, but may get off for good behavior. Something tells me she won’t be treated exactly like the other inmates.
