Paper Origami Rose

Origami, the ancient Japanese art of paper folding, is a fun way to create beautiful 3D models with a single sheet of paper. How to Make a Paper Origami Rose

Follow the easy origami rose instructions given below:

Step 1
The first step in making an origami rose is the choice of paper. You may use specific origami paper or any other kind of paper, with the color and texture of your choice. It would be better if you choose a paper, which has a slight difference in its front and back side, may be in the color or texture.

Step 2
Now, that you are ready with the paper, let us start with the actual procedure. If you are using a normal paper, you may have to cut it into a square shape.

Step 3
You begin with a mountain fold on the paper. In simple words, just fold the paper in half. Unfold it, so that you get a crease in the middle of the paper.

Step 4
Rotate the paper by an angle of 90 degree and again fold it in half. Unfold the paper. Now, you have two creases, perpendicular to each other in a 'plus' manner. Draw black lines on the two creases.

Step 5
Rotate the paper by an angle of 45 degrees this time and fold it into half again to get a triangle. Unfold it to see a crease, joining two of the corners of the square paper. Similarly, make another crease that joins the other two corners too. Draw red lines on these creases.

Step 6
Now fold the paper in half. You will see the two red lines on the inner side of the paper. Fold the paper along one of the red lines, into a valley fold. Turn the paper over and fold the other end along the second line on the other side to get an inverted triangle.

Step 7
Open the paper from inside of the triangle and flatten to make a square base. Place it in such a way that the open sides are directed downwards.

Step 8
Fold the two open sides towards the center line. Flip the paper and repeat the steps to get a kite shape. Now fold the top triangular portion of the kite towards the center. Now, unfold the last three folds.

Step 9
Lift the bottom corner of the square upwards and flatten along the three creases to bring the edges towards the center. Flip the paper and repeat the step.

Step 10
Fold the top layer of the right side into a valley fold, that is bring it towards the center line. Similarly, fold the left side of the top layer towards the center line.

Step 11
Fold the model upwards into half. Now open the four sides to get a plus sign figure. Start folding the sides into a triangular pattern, clockwise to get a pinwheel like structure.

Step 12
Flip the model over and with the help of a pair of tweezers grab the top and rotate it slowly but firmly for many turns.

Step 13
Turn the model over and fold the flaps of each petal inside neatly. This is the back view of your flower. Once you have folded all the four flaps inside, flip the model and your paper origami rose is ready!
