- Take a square piece of paper, with the colored side facing down. Fold the paper in half, crease well with both hands and unfold, and then fold again in the opposite side.
- Turn over the paper to the colored side and likewise, fold the paper in half, crease well and unfold. Fold it again in the opposite side.
- Following the formed creases, take the top 3 corners down to the bottom corner and press the model.
- Now fold toward the middle line and unfold, and following this crease, open and flatten the formed flap. Likewise, repeat the above two steps for the other three corners as well.
- Turn over the page of the front and back flaps, and raising the top layer, fold along the crease. Similarly repeat this step for the other three flaps as well.
- Turn to the opposite side, and check if equal pleats are formed behind each side of the model. Squeeze the creases formed and slowly pinch the narrow end so that the edges meet behind the model.
- Gripping the narrow edge of the model gently, draw the outer petals close to each other until they meet.
- Finally, shape the petals by pinching their ends and folding back their tips.
- Take a square piece of paper, with the colored side facing down. Diagonally fold from both sides and then unfold.
- Fold each corner in the center and twice again fold the new formed corners into the center.
- Similarly on the other side, fold each corner into the center and then fold in each new formed corner with a small amount.
- For petals, slowly draw the petal from behind to the front, as if you are turning the corner inside out. Repeat the step for all other corners as well.
- Likewise for the second set of petals and for the third set, don't turn the corners inside out, just fold below the first set. Your lotus flower is ready.
