Palin Addresses Wardrobe, Blames Bush for Election Defeat

In recent interviews, Sarah Palin seems to be puzzled by the controversy surrounding her wardrobe for the GOP campaign and put the blame for her election loss squarely on the Bush Administration.
Sarah Palin has explained in recent interviews that she had nothing to do with the controversial $150,000 wardrobe that was reportedly purchased for her during her campaign for Vice President. The interviews will be airing over the coming days with NBC, CNN and Fox, and Palin is adamant that she never asked for the clothes nor wanted them.

Palin claims that she would have been just as happy wearing her own clothes during the campaign. Since the campaign ended, there has been an ongoing buzz around the wardrobe situation, as various groups have harshly criticized the Alaska Governor and the GOP for using campaign funds for such expenses. Now Palin and her family - as well as lawyers for the GOP - are trying to determine which clothes were purchased for her, where those clothes are now and how she can return them.

In addition to addressing the ongoing controversy surrounding her campaign wardrobe, Palin also discussed the campaign itself and why she believes that her ticket was unsuccessful. Without hesitation, Sarah Palin pointed to the Bush Administration as the primary reason for the GOP defeat at the hands of Democratic rivals Barack Obama and Joe Biden. She correctly noted that a Republican administration has overseen massive spending increases, a poor economy and two poorly managed wars abroad - areas generally considered strengths of Republican administrations in the past.

Palin reasoned that the American public simply wanted to break away from the type of leadership - Republican leadership - that has driven the country to its current position, both domestically and internationally.

It's difficult to argue with her thinking on this point. It's nearly impossible to imagine any Republican ticket that would have captured the necessary vision of change that most of the country was longing for.
