You can use pneumatic sprayer instead of the painting brush. Apply many thin coats, if you are using a painting brush. Single thin coats may not give you good results. After applying the first coat, leave the cabinets to dry. Sand them slightly with the help of 400 grit sandpaper. Sanding will improve the bonding between the two coats. Two coats are always enough for painting the kitchen cabinets. However, you can go for third coat if you want. Heavy grain wood like oak need three coats for the better results.
