Packing tips for moving: Making a difficult job simple
Starting your packing well before you move is very important. You should keep plenty of time in hand, so that you will be able to pack all your things with great care. It is advisable to start packing 6 weeks prior to your move.
Before you start packing, you should keep all your supplies ready at hand. It is best to pack all your belongings in large boxes. You would also need plastic packing tape and lots of papers. The tape would help in securely closing the boxes and the papers would help in cushioning the goods inside the boxes.
The most difficult thing that we have to face while moving from one place to another is the trouble of packing our belongings. There are several useful packing tips for moving that can help you in completing the task without any difficulty. It is very important to pack your goods with the utmost care, so that they do not get damaged when you shift them from one place to another.
It is best to pack the larger and heavier boxes at the very bottom of a box and the smaller and lighter ones on the top. It is advisable using papers to keep the side of the items inside the boxes apart from others. Doing this ensures that the items are not damaged, when moving from one place to another.
You should also maintain a list of the number of boxes that you are packing and also keep a tab on the items that you are packing in each of the box. This ensures that nothing goes amiss. You must also label each of the boxes.
While packing those items that are breakable, you should ensure that you have a lot of cushioning on the sides. The box containing them should be labeled as FRAGILE, so that they are handled with utmost care while packing and unpacking the items. It is advisable that you should pack such items in double boxes.
When packing large furniture, you can dismantle them and place all the screws, nuts and bolts along with the parts. The nuts and bolts should be taped to each of the components. Doing this ensures that once you reach your destination and start putting the furniture together, you do not have to face any trouble due to the loss of any nut, bolt or screw.
Loading the boxes in the vehicle by which you plan to shift your goods demands a lot of attention. While placing the boxes inside the vehicle, the heavier items should be placed on the bottom and the lighter items can be placed on their top. Also while unloading the items, lighter ones should be all unloaded first and then the heavier items. The boxes should be tied tightly so that when the vehicle moves on the road they do not topple and slide inside damaging the items.
I have personally found these packing tips very helpful, when I recently shifted my move to toronto to where I used Toronto movers to move my things. Hope, they will benefit you in the same manner.
