It was reported that Santa Monica police officers responded to a call for "medical assistance" at a home in Wilson’s neighborhood and it was later confirmed that the call came from the actor’s home. The statement released by the police department read, "The person was transported to a local hospital where they are being treated." On Sunday evening Wilson’s bothers, Luke and Andrew, and his parents were spotted at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles.
It has been reported that Wilson was hospitalized after attempting suicide. The rag tabs have reported that a family member found Wilson at his home after he had cut his left wrist and had taken a number of pills. What kind of pills and how many has not been specified. Wilson will reportedly be admitted to a detox program. There has been no comment from Wilson’s reps, but a publicist for the hospital confirmed that Wilson was admitted to the hospital on Sunday and was in "good condition." The publicist did not offer any other information including what Wilson was being treated for or how long he would be in the hospital.
Wilson’s next flick, The Darjeeling Limited will premiere at the Venice Film Festival next month. The film, directed by Wes Anderson, also stars Jason Schwartzman, Adrien Brody, Anjelica Houston, Natalie Portman, and Bill Murray. Wilson is filming the comedy Tropical Thunder with best buddy Ben Stiller. No word on what his hospitalization and alleged detox program means for the premier or his filming schedule.
