Outdoor Fire Pit Design Ideas
More often than the actual design of the fire pit, it is the surrounding landscape design that has a fire pit as its center, that provides the beauty you are trying to create or define. As such, we talk not only about fire pit designs, but ways and means of adding elements that beautify the entire outdoor space.
- A fire pit surrounded by a narrow passage of water is a great way of adding a little element to your design. Place low lying artificial plants in the water, and make the entire design more interesting.
- Surround the actual fire pit with pebbles and other colored stones, that glisten in the light of the fire, and further enclose it with the base.
- Portable outdoor fire pits are available for those who do not want to go through the trouble of building a fire pit. In fact, the variety of designs these are available in are gorgeous, and probably some that you could never imagine or come up with.
- A fire pit made of steel, on four legs (resembling a table), adds a modern touch to any landscape. This idea is perfect if you have a house designed in the modern architectural style.
- A fire pit enclosed in a wrought iron structure, with carvings and cut outs so that the light comes out in tiny snatches adds immensely to the aesthetic appeal of a cool winter's night.
- Believe it or not, fire pits can be designed even amid a fountain. If this is possible in your landscape, it is a great idea that allows you to remain warm will listening to the soothing sound of running water and unwinding.
- Have an elongated or rectangular base for the fire pit, and a long and narrow fire pit within. Again, this is a more modern style and looks great in the modern architectural setting. If you make this same design with bricks, it could give the entire space a more rustic look, and would gel well in such a setting.
- An outdoor fire pit that is at the same level with the ground is another great idea.
- Build a fire pit with a water body in the center surrounded with a circular, square, triangular or irregularly shaped fire pit.
