Origami Heart

Origami is the Japanese art of paper folding that is very popular both with young people and adults. There are many different things that you can make with origami and one of this is the origami heart. Origami is not just a creative pursuit but recent research has shown that it is very effective as therapy for people suffering from chronic depression. Easy Origami Heart

You need a piece of origami paper that is a perfect square. Fold the paper into half and then fold it once again. Open up the paper, so that you have two creases on the paper. Place the origami paper in such a way that it resembles a diamond shape. Now fold the piece of paper in such a way that the top portion of the edge of the paper meets the crease at the center. Fold the bottom portion of the paper so that it meets the top portion then fold the right side to meet the crease at the middle of the center. Similarly fold the left side ton meet the crease in the center. Turn over the paper and fold the both the edges on the left and the right side. Now fold the top points of the heart edges on both the left and right sides. Flip the paper again and your origami heart is ready!

Origami Heart with Wings

To make an origami heart with wings, take a piece of origami paper and fold the paper into a rectangle, half length wise. Now fold it again to make a square and open up the paper completely to get two creases. Fold the paper again in such a way that the bottom half of the paper meets the center crease and repeat the same step on the top half of the paper. Flip the paper over to the other side and fold the right edge of the paper to overlap on the crease in the center, taking care not to fold the bottom flap over it. Repeat the same steps on the left side until you get a triangular piece of paper with the flaps peeking through the top. Turn the paper over and you will see an inverted boat shape. Fold the rectangular portion into an equal half and you will see that the top half of the rectangle consists of two flaps or two parts. Fold the right side of the paper to make it look like a triangle and do the same with the other flap. Now mark two inverted triangles on the rectangular part of the paper and fold them downwards. Make two more folds on the top part of the flap so that it has a triangular edge. Flip the paper over and your origami heart with wing is ready!

Origami Beating Heart

For making origami beating heart, you need to fold origami paper in half to make a rectangle. Fold corners to center creases on both sides. Flip it and fold sides to make a new square. Turn it to the other sides and fold inner borders to the middle crease so that you get a diamond shape. Open the inner borders and fold them lengthwise. Fold two inches from bottom and half an inch from inner corners. Pull inner small flaps out and tuck them by folding them behind the outer flaps. Now turn the paper on the other sides and insert your fingers on the flaps behind. Move your fingers forward and backwards to get an amazing origami heart that beats.
