I have always been fascinated to know more about the human body. I like to call the human body as the living factory, that keeps working non-stop till we die. The human body system is a marvel of science and the greatest invention of God. The minutest organ of the human body like the cell is self-sufficient to carry out replication, function, release energy, etc. without us even noticing the various processes that occur. There are innumerable chemical reactions that take place with the help of an organic catalyst known as enzymes in the body. We live because we breath in oxygen and this is made possible by the two large balloons in our chest, known as lungs. The blood is able to transfer the essential molecule of life oxygen, to various organs and get purified of the carbon dioxide due to the continuous pumping action of the heart. If the heart skips a beat, it will surely result in a heart attack!

There are many such important organs that help run the body as one single unit. The kidneys, liver, pancreas, uterus, stomach, intestines, testes are just a few of the organs in the human body. The nose is a complex structure that has a smooth bony constriction in the front that is smaller in diameter than a finger. We breath with the help of our nose, making it our own specialized and exclusive breathing apparatus. The nose is divided by a septal wall into right nostril and left nostril. Thus, making left nostril a part of the organs on left side of body.
  • Lung: The lung is an organ of respiration. There are two lungs in human body. The left lung is smaller than the right lung as it needs to accommodate the heart that is located slightly towards the left side of the chest cavity. The left lung is divided into two lobes and the right lung into three lobes. Lungs are part of the human body and left side organ.
  • Heart: Although, not one of the most deserving candidates in this list of organs on left side of body, heart can be mentioned. The muscular pump is located between the lungs in the middle of the chest. It is slightly placed towards the left sternum and in front of the spine. Thus, the heart is not centrally located, but to the left of central line. Thus, gaining a nomination as a part of human body, left side organ.
  • Esophagus: The musculomembranous canal, about nine inches in length (25 to 30 cm) that extends from the pharynx to the abdomen is called the esophagus. This organ lies mostly to the left side of the body, thus making it an organ of the left side of the body.

The cacum arises from the lower right side and ascends then transverses and descends into parts of colon that enter the lower left side of rectum. Thus, a part of the large intestine, the rectum is present in the left side of body, making it one of the organs on left side of body.
