Openmindedness, a Joke!
We talk a lot about us human beings having progressed and being more tolerant of our ever changing. We somehow seem to be immensely proud about the fact that we are very openminded in life. what a joke that sounds like!
There is a lot of big talk about people changing and being more broadminded than what they were before. True, however, not in all cases. For example the modern Indian women to some extent has become liberated to a certain degree, however there is still a huge percentage that are still kept under lock and key and meant to behave like the ideal daughters that they were supposed to turn out.
Premarital sex in a country like India is still looked upon as a sin for those self righteous bunch of people who were in the first place responsible for India's pride and honorary position of being the second most populated country in the world. Oh don't you worry we will reach the much coveted position of being the most populated country soon, and we will be able to achieve that feat even with our eyes closed, because that is exactly how we go about things; with eyes closed.
Anyway coming back to the topic at hand, when a boy falls in love with a girl, there are literally various ways of how it happens. In my case,when i fell in love, all the stars were aligned in the right order, (thankfully she thinks so too). Why is it that the one you are looking for the most actually turns out to be the one who was looking for you too? Call it destiny or call it coincidence, the point is that both did find each other. Of course now you see what happens is, everything appears to be fine and perfect, till the great Almighty decides that no, he wants it to make it a little more interesting, so what does he do? He matches two exactly opposite people together, and sits back to watch the fun, while both of them sit working out their differences between themselves. But, have you ever sat with a person discussing issues, likes and dislikes, and everything else under the sun, while the only thing that both of you have in common is pure and simple love? It is probably the best way to discuss things, because, both of you'll tend to see things in a different light.
What progresses next is talks of marriage and settling down. It isn't as simple as it sounds though, for one simple reason, that the boy actually fell in love with the parent's idea of a 'perfect daughter', so they would obviously think that she deserves better, and probably they're right. With the amount of time and effort spent on a daughter nowadays, any parent would expect the best. However, now the question that arises is, is the girl looking for a business arrangement where she will be assured of lifelong security, or is she just looking for pure simple love? The day our parents understand that will be the day we can truly state that we as a race have progressed not only in mind but in spirit too.
