Open Heart: Part 4
Woke up in an unknown place and almost got crushed by a door and was saved by someone I really don't want to see...
Part 4 - Waking
I woke and found myself staring up at a high flat ceiling with light everywhere. "Ah! The Light! It burns!" I screamed and covered my head with the blanket. Inside, the light can barely be seen. What can be seen was dim. Throwing the blanket off me and taking deep breaths, I took a look around the room and saw a big screen TV across the room facing me. It was sitting atop, a great big desk with drawers of all sizes. That thing would be fun.
The room was rectangle in shape with two walls covered in big windows, one of which leads to a balcony that overlooks a brilliant beach with glittering sand, shining water, and squealing people everywhere. The other was placed on the opposite wall and faced a forest of all colors.
Both windows had thick cream-colored curtains currently tied up as well as tables with electric lamps at each side. Other than my bed, the third wall had another drawer beside the bed and on the other side, there was a door leading somewhere. Maybe to the bathroom. Crawling across the bed, made harder by sinking with every movement, I finally got to the door. Opening it, I was hit with a mouth-drooling smell.
I suddenly realized I was starving! My search for the source of the smell brought me through many staircases and finally to a big wooden closed-door at the end of a long hall. On the door was a sign that says, "Knock no matter what."
I knocked and at my touch, the door fell. For some reason, instead of falling into the room, it fell back, where I was. I was surprised and my mind went blank. Instead of running away, I just stood there. I was prepared for an impact that never arrived.
Opening one eye at a time, I saw a long, bony, pale hand with long fingernails painted bright scarlet holding the door a little above, where my head was. With sudden dread, I turned around slowly, very frightened. It couldn't possibly be...!
