Another factor that can play a role in lesbian or same sex relationship is hormonal instances where imbalance or some chemical aberration can give rise to attraction towards same sex. Certain emotional causes and childhood instances of sexual abuse can also lead to same sex predilections. A scientist in the field of human sexuality can elaborate this much better.

Last but least same sex activity should be tolerated in totality, though not as encouragement to straight men and women. As long as an activity does not damage the society and any life form including humans then each to his or her way of life. The percentage of same sex loving humans is relatively small and there no dirth of people on the planet to reproduce for the survival of human species.
