Online Dating can Have Advantages and Disadvantages

I guess over the past number of years we have seen technology have a major impact on the dating scene. There has been a massive explosion in online dating and with many dating websites now available this is an area that will probably never predicted to be such a vital part of society when it started off first.

It's amazing that these websites (or should I say businesses) have helped to increase the chances of people meeting. This is a fast-paced world we live in and with the likes of social networking sites, instant messaging, e-mail, and of course dating websites they can be very addictive they can take up a lot of our time and they can also be very impersonal because it gives people an opportunity to simply shop around and pick and choose because they either like the look of somebody or they don't like the look of somebody.

It seems as if people can make decisions quickly with online dating sites. I'm really unsure as to how this works but was humans because it's not really how we should function when we are in the process of looking for a relationship. Why do people take so little time and just move on quickly without trying to understand or find out whose profiles they are reading. Words can be very two-dimensional and it can be difficult for some people to portray their personality, sense humour on a screen. There are however lots of advantages to online dating because it does actually increase the opportunity and possibilities of meeting somebody that's otherwise you would have no chance of meeting.

There are also disadvantages to online dating because really and truly do you know who you are talking to half the time. This can be an opportunity for some people to be dishonest about who they really are. It can be simple to misinform, it's easy to not put your exact age, weight, height. It can be simple to change whether you are single or married people can be dishonest about many things in these profiles that you read on some of these online dating sites. This is unfortunately a little bit on the downside to online dating.

As we said already it can be quite difficult to portray your sense of humor especially on a dating website. Sometimes it can be quite difficult to portray irony and it can be really difficult to express the tome within your voice icon you're having a conversation. It can be difficult especially across e-mail and instant messaging which cannot be edited later to portray these many things that come natural when you are holding a conversation. This again is one of the disadvantages of online dating and having conversations with a potential date online.

Sometimes the Internet can offer people escape-ism and allow them to live fantasies of who they would like to be online. I'm not saying that this is how everybody is there are many people who have met, dated, and married and they all begin conversations true dating sites and instant messaging except. We all know as you get older it can be more difficult to meet people on the Internet has allowed many more people to meet and interact with each other in ways that could only have been dreamt of years ago. It's all negative you just need to take everything into perspective.
