One Night In Train

Story of a two strangers in train.
I was all awake as I didn't have any berth to sleep. I was traveling from Mumbai - Chennai in sleeper class. I had a waiting ticket. I forgot to book my tickets as usual and bought one on time. It was 10 at night. I was desperately looking for any free berth. In the same compartment I saw a small kid sleeping on an upper birth started crying. There was a beautiful girl on the other upper birth. I mistook her as the kid's mother but she was not. A woman in her thirties woke up to get the kid. She took her on her birth now. Other passengers have already slept. I immediately took the upper birth. I was happy as I got a birth and I will not have to stay awake all night. I was ready to rest. I looked at her. She was looking beautiful in blue light of her mobile. She was smiling, may be by reading a funny message. A woman shouted. 'Snigdha, sleep now, it's 11." she replied loudly 'yah mom, in 5 mins'. I already have got the whole picture, the girl must be about 22 and she was with her parents.

We exchanged smiles. I said ' Hi' she smiled again. I started reading the newspaper in my mobile light. She was awake also (don't know doing what ). I looked down cautiously. Her mother has already started snoring. I looked at her, we exchanged smiles again. I made my mind, I need to talk to her, couldn't resist, I whispered, 'hi Snigdha, my name is Amar' I asked what do you do? And where are you going? She understood that these questions are just to get us started; we were whispering and making sure that no one is hearing us.

'Snigdha, why haven't u slept yet' her mom shouted. I pretended sleeping and so did she. She didn't reply. Her mom again started snoring.

Now we have to find a new way for communication. I wrote a text message, gave her my mobile. She did same. We were exchanging mobiles for 2 hrs. The soft touch of her fingers couldn't be ignored. I was excited and she was blushing. It was 3 in the night. I kissed her hand for the last message writing good night. She smiled. I slept. When I woke up I at 8 am. I checked her, she wasn't at her birth, neither her parents. I saw the newspaper folded at my birth. It read 'It was the most beautiful night, Goodbye- Snigdha'.
