One Man's Food Is Another Man's Poison

"Go do your own thing and stand up for your thought...
Learn to be bold, child, and never shame your lot",
We are told such lofty things when adults around sort
Our lives and the precious grey cells each one of us has bought.

Then, what goes wrong when suddenly out of the blue
I'm told to 'shut up' and not follow the brainy cue
Of introspection and query, to join the solemn few
Who dare to be different in human shades and hue?

Why must I put up with stuff that does not appeal
To my idea of religion, politics or even a perfect meal?
Why must I follow you blindly without a trace of zeal
And sleep each night with an incomplete and insipid feel?

I WILL DARE to think aloud and challenge 'wrong'
And, sing without hesitance the nightingale's love-song,
I will let my children know how in err you throng
The common butchery that is disgustingly long...

He has endowed each one of us with a thinking cap
I'm going to use mine, what about you old chap?
The whole world's awake in awe of the morrow's lap
Come, let us together, empower and potential tap.

"One Man's Food Is Another Man's Poison", or so they say...
And, "All the world's a stage!", if add I dare and may;
There is no harm in playing your part 'right' through the day
And join hands even as the 'Poison' is thrown over the bay.

You may like spice, while I favor bland
You may prefer the sea, while I hover the land
You may desire company and I alone to stand
Lets revel in diversity and lend each other a hand.

Really, you cannot be not very different in life and form
We are simply bound by self created social norm
We have weathered many tribulations and storm
To come this far in life's boarding school dorm.

"Each one for himself and God for us all"
Is a war cry between a dumb life and subsequent fall;
If as humans we desire to stand firm and tall
"Hand In Hand" should be the clarion call!

PLEASE, LET'S GIVE THIS PLANET, OURSELVES AND OUR CHILDREN A CHANCE TO CELEBRATE LIFE.
