One Day....I Will Live...2
Sometimes...our dream, our wanting.....are so dependent on what others think and if they approve of it or not.
Time was flying very fast.....as good times often do.....hope we can stop and save them forever....
Deesha was 6 now....she was an intelligent, soft spoken and a very sweet child.... Not only in studies...she performed well in extra curricular activities...like dance, music, sports...
"our daughter is an all rounder"....the proud father will often say.....and the mother will dream of what she wants her daughter to be in the future....
Everyone has different plans, papa wanted deesha to be a doctor, dada wanted her to be a government officer, mamma wanted her to do well in sports or cultural....dadi , to be a teacher....As many people, so many plans....
It was annual day in her school....it was the first time deesha was participating in the cultural event...she has already participated in fancy dress events and kids dance earlier....but this time she was selected to perform in the junior level-under 10 group. They had to perform on classical number. Naina dressed her daughter in a beautiful maroon lehanga....with all the jewelleries....she had selected them personally...after all it is the first time, she was buying these traditional jewelleries for her daughter....they must be special. When deesha was ready, everybody was amazed to see her....oh...she was looking like a bride doll...touch wood....
Amit was speechless......her daughter was so precious....god save her from every bad thing and bless her with whatever she desire for....
And the performance was a hit!!!....although deesha was the youngest participant in the group, but she caught the eyes....her sweet face and the perfect moves gathered lot of applauses....And she was awarded with the best performer award in the junior level...as her group managed to get the first prize.... And principal announced that she will send this group to participate in state level dance competition of the year.....Deesha was so happy to hold her big trophy. So many teachers, parents were coming to Naina and Amit to congratulate them on their daughter's performance.....they were so proud....
When they returned home, deesha showed her trophy to her grandparents and her neighbors....she was just on cloud 9.....Naina told rajshri(dadi) about how every body praised deesha's performance...
"Every body was so stunned and amazed at how this little girl performed so well, maa"naina said. They were all sitting in the hall after dinner....deesha and dikshit were already asleep..."Yes maa, even I was so surprised to see her perfect moves...she did not miss a single beat..."Amit added.
"I think we should send her to dance classes for some classical dance training"...naina proposed looking at her in-laws...
"Dance.....why to learn dance...what good it will do...."it was ashish...granddad...he seemed unhappy about the idea of sending deesha to a dance school.
"papa, if she has the ability, we should help her groom it....u should have seen her dancing...she was just......."naina was speaking when rajshri stopped her in between..."It is ok to perform in school bahu....but being a dancer is ......no one in our family has done such a small thing..."
"small thing....dance is not a small or bad thing maa....it is an art...lot of children learn dance these days and make their parent's proud.....have you not seen so many dance competitions coming on TV"Naina was amazed at what her in-laws think about dance.
"we don't care what others do....but I will not allow any one to disgrace my family's name by becoming a DANCER...."ashish spoke and raise to leave the room...
"But....."all naina could say as she saw ashish and rajshri going to their bedroom.....and amit too standing there saying nothing.....A drop of tear came from her eyes....
