Once My Best Friend

The boy I’m in love with was once my best friend
But when he left my world came to an end.
He’s gone from my life, I need to move on,
I guess our friendship just wasn’t that strong.

He has grown up now, and changed a lot,
More than he should have, or so I thought.
Once I saw him, walking by
And as much as I wanted to, I didn’t say hi.

I guess I’ll never know what he might have done
Maybe, just maybe, his heart I’d have won
I love him too much, to let him go
And I guess he’ll just never know

That I love him so much and it just breaks my heart
To know that he doesn’t care, that we are apart.
