Oily Hair Home Remedies
Every morning you wash your hair and they look lustrous and silky after the hair wash. However, within a few hours, they become oily and greasy. Here are some home remedies to effectively treat oily hair.

Remedies for Oily Hair
Shampoo
One of the first and the basic remedy is to use a mild shampoo. Harsh shampoos damage your hair. Many shampoos available in the market are harsh for your hair. You must check the ingredients of your shampoo. There are some of the ingredients that you must look out for when you choose a shampoo for oily hair. These ingredients are essential oils like jojoba oil, rosemary oil, tea tree oil, sage, eucalyptus oil, tea tree oil and chamomile.
Homemade Shampoo
A homemade shampoo with aloe vera, lemon juice and your regular shampoo, can also prove to be effective. Apply this shampoo to your scalp and lather thoroughly. After this, leave the shampoo on the hair for five minutes and rinse the hair clean. While you are washing your hair, it is advisable to massage the scalp. The excess oil cannot be cleansed in a single hair wash. So, you must wash your hair at least twice.
Another good remedy is a dry shampoo. Sandalwood powder is said to be a dry shampoo that works well with oily scalp. You just have to rub sandalwood powder on the scalp. A light dry shampoo is fragrant and is helpful for oily scalp.
Shikakai powder is a good shampoo and is one of the famous oily hair remedies in India. For preparing this shampoo you need to mix shikakai powder and fenugreek powder and apply it to your hair. Dry soap nuts (reetha) are also effective. You need to soak these nuts in water overnight and mash them. Then filter out this solution and add shikakai powder to this solution. This makes a good homemade shampoo. Wash your hair thoroughly using this shampoo.
Oily Hair and Dandruff
Oily hair and dandruff is a problem seen in people living in humid regions, especially coastal areas. Besides the coastal areas, this problem is also found in people living in overcrowded and over polluted cities. The moisture and humidity in air leads to greasy and oily hair. Due to the excess oil, dust and dirt accumulate and stick to the hair and scalp, and this causes dandruff that needs to be washed regularly with a mild shampoo. After washing the hair thoroughly, many a time, you will suffer from dry hair immediately after the wash. For treating this, you must condition your hair with a good conditioner. The conditioner forms a protective coating on the hair and prevents it from severe damage.
This was all about oily hair care. Home remedies are cheaper and more effective than the expensive products available in the market. In the homemade treatment, you know the ingredients that are added to the shampoo, making them more safe than the other shampoos, as you are not always sure about the harmful ingredients in the packed shampoos. Apart from the cleansing and conditioning, you must take care that you have a balanced diet, exercise regularly and sleep well.
