Recipes for Oil and Vinegar Dressing
Apart from a regular salad, you can use these following salad dressing recipes on different combinations. Whether it is plain and simple lettuce salad or gourmet-style, the taste is absolutely divine. Calories in these recipes are anywhere around 70 to 75, depending on the addition and omission of certain ingredients.
Oil and Vinegar Dressing
Ingredients
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt and black pepper, each
- 2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- ½ cider vinegar
- ⅔cup olive oil
- ⅔ cup chicken broth
Take a bowl and pour all the ingredients together, except for the olive oil. Start whisking the ingredients and slowly add the olive oil. Keep stirring the dressing till everything incorporates properly. Make the dressing right before drizzling it in the salad.
Garlic Dressing
Ingredients
- ½ teaspoon sugar
- ¼ teaspoon lemon juice
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¾ cup light oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 tablespoons white wine vinegar
- Worcestershire sauce
In a mixing bowl, add all the ingredients together, except for the oils. Slowly, as you keep whisking, pour each oil one by one. Add Worcestershire sauce depending on your taste. Pour the garlic dressing on your salad and serve.
Sesame Ginger Dressing
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons tahini
- 3 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tablespoon ginger, chopped
In a food processor, mix in garlic, ginger, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, and soy sauce. Combine everything properly and then add tahini till the dressing gets a bit thick. Now slowly add vegetable oil in the food processor. If the dressing is too thick, even after adding the vegetable oil, you can add a tablespoon of water. Do a taste test to see if all the ingredients are complimenting each other.
Sweet Oil and Vinegar Dressing
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 onion, chopped
- ½ cup ketchup
- ¾ cup white wine vinegar
- Salt and black pepper, for taste
Take a bowl to whisk in the vegetable oil, white wine vinegar, sugar, ketchup, salt, black pepper, onion, and Worcestershire sauce. Keep stirring till the sugar has dissolved properly. Drizzle the dressing right on top of your salad, and if you have any leftover, pour in an air-tight container and place in the refrigerator.
Sicilian Oil and Vinegar Dressing
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and black pepper, for taste
In a bowl, mix in all the ingredients, except for the olive oil. Slowly, pour the oil as you whisk properly. Do a taste test and check if the dressing isn't too salty. Make changes accordingly. If it is a bit salty for you, then you can add sugar in the dressing.
Balsamic Oil and Vinegar Dressing
Ingredients
- 1 sprig oregano
- 1 sprig thyme
- 1 cup olive oil
- ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
- Salt and black pepper, for taste
Take a glass bottle and mix in olive oil, balsamic vinegar, oregano, thyme, salt and black pepper, in that order. Place the cap on and shake well. Place a dressing spout on every time you want to drizzle the dressing on the salad. Don't forget to shake the dressing before using it.
