Oh Chloe (13)

Sleeping problems.
Hey you guys, I finally found out how to get a picture on here so here is a picture of Jackson.
Love,

I stood waiting backstage for my name to be called. I thought this whole thing was stupid but you had to do it.

'Chloe Donaldson' the principle called. I stepped on stage and walked across getting my rolled up piece of paper that was supposed to be a diploma for middle school but after a long time waiting they declared us as 'graduated from middle school.', which we weren't because we had to go to school on Monday for another two weeks. My mother quickly grabbed me so we could get me home and into my dress. I laughed at her when she sped home.

'You are way over the speed limit'

'Who cares.' She mumbled. My hair was already curled and pinned up and we got me into my Black dress that was strapless with a big black bow on the side. Mother snapped her pictures and I was relieved when I heard the door bell ring. I opened it up to find Jackson wearing a nice button up blue shirt with dark jeans. I took a deep breath and gave him a stunning smile.

'You look...' he trailed off. 'amazing.'

'You look pretty good yourself.' I murmur.

'OH!' mother starts again. 'let me get a picture of you two.' Jackson wrapped his arm around me and smiled as my mom snapped the hundredth picture and I just laughed at the awkwardness.

'Do you want me to take you two?' my dad asked eye down Jackson.

'No dad we can walk, school is only three blocks away, it's okay.' I smile and pull Jackson out the door while he threw over his shoulder,

'Nice seeing you Mr. and Mrs. Donaldson!' I once we had turned to the next block I stopped and turned to him.

'Could that have been any more awkward?' I ask and he just laughed wrapping his arm around me.

'I like your parents.'

'Well so do I, they just get so annoying sometimes.' I sigh.

'All parents do.'

'That reminds me, I need to meet your parents too!' I look over and regret I said that. He was looking down at his feet that were silently walking next to mine which were clicking because of the high heel. 'I'm sorry.' I mumble a apology.

'No, it's okay.' He gives me a little smile. We rounded the corner again to come to the football field he stopped and so did I.

'Is there something wrong?' I ask concerned.

'No.' he shakes his head smiling. 'everything is perfect.' He grabs my waist quickly and places a sweet kiss on my lips only to quickly pull away. I was dazed by the kiss and he chuckled at my reaction. I just swatted his chest playfully and took his arm, swinging it around me so he would hold me. We arrived at the school which was packed and decorated very well. I laughed when I found Cindy and Meyer who were standing, drinking some punch. He eased his arm around her and I watched as her cheeks grew a bright pink.

'Hey.' I smile.

'Chloe, you look amazing tonight.' Meyer compliments.

'Yeah, I love your dress.' Cindy says. She was so sweet.

'Well thank you. You look lovely as well.' I reply to Cindy.

'Well aren't you a sweetheart?' she giggled. I looked over to see Kolbi come in with Brittany hanging on his arm. I laughed and everyone looked to where I was.

'No wonder.' Jackson says.

'I wonder what her parents would think of that.' Cindy whispers innocently taking a sip of her punch.

Kolbi was wearing something that looked like what Jackson and Meyer were wearing but Brittany... She was wearing a tight, strapless, red dress...desperate much?

'I'm not letting them ruin my night.' I say officially.

'That's good now let's dance.' Jackson says grabbing my hand and pulling me out to the dance floor. Now this wasn't dirty dancing, nothing like what Brittany was doing against Kolbi, it was fun innocent dancing.

The night past by quickly and I loved every minute of it. At about 10:15 Jackson and I decided to leave. We said our goodbyes to our friends before leaving. Once outside the school I stopped and took out all my pins in my head.

'These pins are giving me a headache.' I explain to Jackson. I threw the pins in the nearby garbage can that had a sticker that said 'keep Eddyville beautiful' I took off my high heels and looked up to see Jackson laughing.

'Want a piggy back ride?'

'Please?' I give him a puppy dog face.

'Climb on.' He says bending over. I jumped on his back and wrapped my arms around his neck. After a couple moments of silence I whisper in his ear,

'I love you.' I buried my face in the back of his shoulder.

'I love you too.' He chuckles. But I quickly look up.

'Where are we going?' I realize that this was not the way home.

'Where do you think we are going?' I realized moments later when we were walking on the soccer field. I slid off his back and threw my shoes to the side and ran down the field to the goal and fell down on my knees and sat inside the goal watching Jackson walk over to me smiling.

'You're silly.'

'You're silly looking.'

'You're going to get your dress all dirty.'

'I don't care.' I shrug still grinning up at him.

'I do. I want to see that dress again and clean.' He sat next to me wrapping his arms around me pulling me up on his lap. 'There we go.' He sighs and put his head on my shoulder closing his eyes. I giggled and opened on eyelid.

'Hello, any one home?' I say in a little kid voice. He tightened his grip around me.

'I am so tired.' He sighs again.

'I can tell.' I laugh.

'Go to sleep.' He says pulling me down next to him.

'I just might.' I whisper closing my eyes. His fingers traced little circles on my arm as I fell gently asleep.

'Do you think they will ever wake up?' I hear a voice from the distance.

'Maybe, maybe not.' Another voice said.

'Wake up sleepy heads.' I felt someone kick my back. I moan and sit up opening my eyes to the bright lights. There stood Kolbi, smirking, and two other soccer guys who were kicking me and Jackson. The rest of the soccer boys were standing behind them just staring.

'Good morning sunshine.' Kolbi smiled. I heard a moan next to me. 'Good morning idiot. Didn't score last night?' Kolbi asked Jackson.

'Shut up.' Jackson said. I looked down to see me wearing the dress I was the night before. Shit I am dead. I quickly stood up, ran and grabbed my shoes then sprinted home only to hear Jackson yelling after me. I slowly opened the front door slipping in then closed the door behind me. I tiptoed threw the dining room but I had to go past the kitchen to the stair way. I tiptoed only for it to go to waste,

'Care to explain?' my mom asked from the kitchen. She was calm and had a pile of pancakes was placed in front of her. This is when I realized how starving I was.

'Um... where's dad?' I ask.

'He had to go to work. But since it is a Saturday I don't have to work.' She says raising her eyebrows to repeat, 'care to explain.' I gave her a defeated sigh before going and sitting next to her filling the empty plate in front of me with pancakes. My mom was cool when it came to this stuff though, she understood so I told her the sketchy details of last night, not including some parts but it all made sense in the end.

'Okay.' She said simply. 'as long as you two never...'

'Mom, never,' I say with wide eyes. 'I don't really care to get pregnant now maybe after I'm married.' She just turned back to the newspaper she was reading and raised her eyebrows. 'Sorry' I murmur knowing the story about her, aunt Lindsey, and me.

'It's okay but your practice for Soccer started a half hour ago, do you want me to call you in sick?'

'Please?' I ask and she just gave me a playful smile before picking up her phone. I ate the rest of my pancakes then headed upstairs for a nap since the grass wasn't that comfortable. I sighed as I fell on my bed and drifted off to sleep.

When I woke up I felt all the aches and pains that was caused by the hard ground of the soccer field. I got up only to see it was 3 pm. I heard a click at the door and my father peeked in.

'Hey buddy.' He smiled.

'Hey daddy.'

'Your mom told me what happened. I was about to shoot that boy you were with but when I found out that you slept over at Cindy's I felt a lot better.' He laughed. I sighed a sigh of relief when I realized that mom had lied about me and Jackson. If she told Dad about what really happened, dad would have probably shot him.

'Yeah, my phone died and I was so tired from last night I forgot to call you guys and Cindy let me borrow some of her pajamas so yeah.' I say. Dad came and sat on the edge of my bed.

'You know, pumpkin, I'm only doing this for your protection.'

'I know.' I nod. 'but Jackson isn't a bad guy. Give him a chance.'

'Okay. Now take a shower your aunt Lindsey and Grandma are coming.'

'Okay.' I smile hopping off the bed.

I loved my aunt and Grandma and when they visited but I couldn't stop thinking about what happened today with Jackson and his family. His father wasn't home and was away on a trip and his mother ... well he doesn't really talk to his mother, only when he really has to. That night I couldn't sleep because I had slept all day. I tossed and turned only to find the clock to say 2:23 AM. There was a small tap at the window and I found Jackson holding onto the edge of my window sill. I opened it and he pulled himself up.

'How the hell did you get up here?' I ask him quickly.

'I'll never tell my secret.' He smiled. 'Where were you today? I had to deal with the guys at practice all on my own.'

'I'm sorry' I say grabbing his arms so he would wrap them around me. 'I had a lot of explaining to do to my parents.'

'And?'

'And my mom knows and is cool with it and my dad thinks I slept over at Cindy's and doesn't hate you.' I smile.

'Good I don't need any more people hating me.' He chuckled. I laid back down on my bed and he held me as his lips brushed against my cheek. I smiled at the smooth rhythm only to find myself sleeping again.

Another Stupid Mistake.
