Octomom Worried That Hospital Won’t Release Her Litter

Octomom Nadya Suleman has confided in Dr. Phil that Kaiser Permanente hospital may withhold her octuplets until they receive indications of her capability of raising them.
If most of an outraged pop-culture-following U.S. public get their way, Nadya Suleman – dubbed "ocotomom" by the media – won’t be allowed to take her children home from the hospital. Now, it appears that just such a situation may quickly become a reality. Talk show host Dr. Phil McGraw has noted that Suleman confided in him that if she doesn’t demonstrate that she can handle the raising of 14 children, the hospital where her octuplets were born may withhold the children. Apparently, Kaiser Permanente called Suleman on Tuesday expressing concern over the octuplets being released to her home.

Dr. Phil reported: "What she is telling me is that unless and until she has a better living arrangement, that they are not likely to release the children to her." A Kaiser Permanente spokesperson, predictably, noted, "Any conversations that the mother may or may not have had on this topic are private and we could not discuss them."

The details of Suleman’s life that of particular concern to Kaiser is the fact that she has 6 other children besides the octuplets currently residing in the hospital and she lives with her mother in a three-bedroom home. Suleman relies on food stamps and income from government assistance that is granted due to her three special needs children to pay her bills and the home in which she lives is to be sold at auction on May 5 because Suleman’s mother is currently over $23,000 behind on mortgage payments. That Suleman is incapable of properly caring for the children is, essentially, a foregone conclusion to all but the most illogical proponents. Now, it simply remains to be seen how the situation will play out.
