The experience of owning a pet is enriching. The animal grows into a companion and, in many cases, the caretaker of property. Teach the animal the desired command responses by rewarding him with a biscuit or pat or additional play time, every time he gets a command right.

In the case of disobedience, depriving the animal of play time or personal petting and contact works better than hurting the animal or giving up on the exercise.
