Obama: One Year Complete in White House

Barack Obama won the US Presidential elections in November 2008, and thus has completed one full year in the White House.
Obama: One Year Complete in White House
When Barack Obama was elected President of the United States, history was made. It was a landmark for all the African-Americans, something that was unbelievable to say the least.

Obama's victory was expected to change the dynamics between the white and black Americans. It gave many people a chance to believe in their own potential. Obama also took office at a very difficult time, when the worst economic recession had hit, wars were waging in Afghanistan and Iraq, and healthcare in the US needing a proper look-into.

Overall, 41% Americans believe that things have become better since President Barack Obama took over, while around 22% feel the situation has worsened. As far as African-Americans are concerned, 53% think things have indeed improved, while a stunning 72% still complained that racism was still widespread in the United States.

No doubt that Obama has looked into and done quite a bit for many important issues, but many feel that one year is too less a time for any president to manage noticeable changes. So well he has a few more years to show the world, and especially his fellow Americans what he is capable of doing. There are even some who feel that it would take his at least a second term to really have any kind of impact. But there is no doubt that he has his plate full and the road ahead is not as easy as it may seem. But he will need all the positive support he can get from out and from the White House, and we all can say, all the best to him.
