Obama May Use Executive Order to Restrict Access to Guns

In an attempt to make it look like they’re doing something, politicians will try to further control guns in lieu of dealing with the root of the problem of violence in the U.S.
Determined to stem gun violence in the U.S., President Obama will instead settle for further restricting gun ownership in the country. He and Vice President Joe Biden will probably choose to ignore the underlying cause of the actual violence. Whether there is something about life in the U.S. that seeps into the mind and proverbial soul and leads to violent thoughts and actions, or if there is something else about the country that makes violence so common, is unknown. What is certain, however, is that the president is going to try to make it look like he’s doing something by doing nothing at all - nothing but putting on a show, that is.

Proponents of gun control are probably eating it all up, but that’s just because the misguided initiatives that are to come out of this dog and pony show are in line with their agenda. Noted Vice President Biden, "We are not going to get caught up in the notion that unless we can do everything, we're going to do nothing. It's critically important that we act." Biden added, "There are executive orders, executive action that can be taken. We haven't decided what that is yet."

In the past, efforts to push for further gun laws have been opposed by the NRA, the largest gun lobby in the U.S. That’s likely to be the case this time around as well. Talk to any beat cop on the street, of course, and he’ll tell you that the problem in the country is not that it needs more gun control. It simply must enforce the laws already on the books. Such concepts will fall on deaf ears, however, as the administration works feverishly to make it look like hard work is being done to avert future catastrophes. And make no mistake – regardless of how much gun control is implemented, there will be another shooting like that in Aurora, Colorado or Newtown, Connecticut - because nothing is being done about the root cause of this problem.
