Obama Approval Rating Drops in California, Rises Around the Country

President Obama has seen his approval numbers slip in California and rise around the country as he struggles to enact his agenda.
Barack Obama is still very popular among California voters and his approval rate still stands at a very respectable 60%. But that number is down about 5 points over the last 6 months and we're starting to see a broader middling of everyone's opinion of the new president and administration. Generally, Californians are considered pretty far to the left and they were initially enamored with Obama when he made his unlikely run to the White House.

In much the same way, the "rest of the country" was a little surprised to see Obama win the election so handily and many were wary about what a new administration would mean for average Americans. As it turns out - surprise - Obama is drifting back toward the middle on most of the major issues, including health care reform and the War on Terror.

As a result, the left-leaning Californians are a little bit upset and the majority of "average Americans" now feel a little more secure that the Obama administration isn't going to steal all of their guns. Of course, it remains to be seen just how costly the administration's policies are going to be for the next several decades. It may take that long to understand the true impact of the massive bail-out and stimulus packages that have been enacted to help save and stabilize the economy.
