Oatmeal Cookie Recipes
Surprisingly, all those cookies that we love were not intentionally created. They were in fact a mistake. Some Dutch cooks were experimenting with small cakes and oven temperature and well what they got were small little cakes. They called these koekje, which literally means ‘little cake’. Most of the American population now consumes cookies, from kids to the elderly; everybody loves their cookies and milk. Oatmeal cookies are great for taste as well for health benefits. Oatmeal is rich in fibers, which are great for health.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies
Ingredients:
  • Butter, softened – 1 cup.
  • White sugar – 1 cup.
  • Brown sugar – 1 cup, packed.
  • Eggs – 2.
  • Vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon.
  • All-purpose flour – 2 cups.
  • Baking soda – 1 teaspoon.
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon.
  • Ground cinnamon – 1 ½ teaspoon.
  • Quick cooking oaks – 3 cups.
Preparation:
  • Take a medium sized bow and in it blend the butter, white sugar and brown sugar. Next beat the eggs one at a time and add it along with the vanilla essence.
  • Add the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon to this mixture and blend well. Then add the oats and mix together.
  • Make sure it is a doughy consistency and then chill in the fridge for an hour.
  • Let the oven preheat tat 375 degrees F.
  • Roll out the dough and cut different shaped cookies using cookie cutters. And dip in sugar.
  • Place these with some distance on a buttered cookie sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated over for 10 minutes.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the cookie sheet while transferring them onto a wire to cool completely.
Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
Ingredients:
  • Eggs, beaten – 3.
  • Raisins – 1 cup.
  • Vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon.
  • Butter – 1 cup.
  • Brown sugar – 1 cup, packed.
  • White sugar – 1 cup.
  • All-purpose flour – 2 ½ cups.
  • Ground cinnamon – 1 teaspoon.
  • Baking soda – 2 teaspoons.
  • Rolled oats – 2 cups.
  • Pecans, chopped – 1 cup.
Preparation:
  • In a small bowl add the eggs, vanilla and raisins. Mix these well and let them stand for an hour.
  • Let the oven preheat at 350 degrees F.
  • Take a large bowl, in that add butter, brown sugar, white sugar, sifted flour, cinnamon and baking soda. Mix well. then add the raisin and egg mixture and last add the rolled oats.
  • Roll out the dough and cut out cookies using a cookie cutter, and place on a greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 10 minutes and let them cool later.
Oatmeal Butterscotch cookies
Ingredients:
  • Butter, softened – ¾ cup.
  • White sugar – ¾ cup.
  • Brown sugar, packed – ¾ cup.
  • Eggs – 2.
  • Vanilla extract – 1teaspoon.
  • All-purpose flour – 1 ¼ cup.
  • Baking soda – 1 teaspoon.
  • Ground cinnamon – ½ teaspoon.
  • Salt – ½ teaspoon.
  • Rolled oats – 3 cups.
  • Butterscotch chips – 1 2/3 cup.
Preparation:
  • First set the oven to preheat at 375 degrees F.
  • In a large bowl add the eggs, butter, sugar – brown and white, and beat well, adding vanilla extract towards the end.
  • Slowly add the flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Add the oats and butterscotch chips.
  • The mixture should be doughy in consistency. Then roll it out and cut out cookies using a cookie cutter.
  • Place on a cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes till they are golden-brown.
