Nu Millennium is one of New York’s premiere a capella groups. This production has a theme of Love and heart break like it was during the 1960s and 1970s. While the poetry is overtly hilarious, the songs are soulful and melodic. The styles are classic R and B and Doo Wop, which were staples of the times. The group performed in the Off Broadway Musical Barry White: Guided by Destiny which received raves during its run. It was also produced by Wabi Sabi Productions. The production also features Gezele Portwood a singer/actress and Tina Lynn Dickerson an abstract artist and costumer.

There are plans to develop the production into a touring Concert/Poem Tribute to love songs and the 1960 and 1970’s sensibilities. This concert/poem/play hybrid piece bridges the gap between the three art disciplines. This niche performance style caters to not only traditional concert and theater goers but to the cultural sophisticates also. Couples and those who want entertainment that evokes a feel of the good old days but has a "today" flair to it will enjoy the experience. This groundbreaking production accomplishes just that.

Traditionally there is a disconnect between musical concert-goers, theater-goers and poetry lovers. They are usually separate events or at most a combination of two of the genres. But rarely is the combination organic or containing 3 or more of the art forms. Wabi Sabi Productions a leader in experimental theater and events has made a huge effort in creating an original new art form. It is not wholly a concert, nor a musical, nor a play but more of an experience.

Director Emmitt Thrower has a history of blending the artistic disciplines into performances not seen before. As a risk taker in theater he makes the ordinary something special. Exciting, new and original is some of what has been said about the productions at Wabi Sabi Productions. This is another example of thinking way out of the box.
