Now You See Me, Now I Kill You - Prologue

The blades swish back and forth, a dash blocked by a swing. The swords clanged together at the top between the two warriors. They glanced at each other. The sweat rolled off their foreheads. They had been fighting the same old fight for hours nonstop. Both of their legs had gone wobbly and the muscles in their fighting arms ached. Jasper looked into her sweet, innocent, energetic, green eyes. How could someone this beautiful be so deadly?

"Surrender now or I shall bring you to your death!" Jasper declared this empty threat. He could never kill her, not because of her beauty, nor the fact that he was in love with her, but because she was needed in the kingdom.

"Eh, Nah. I shall fight till I win you pesky servant boy. Why would the biggest kingdom in the great forest send you, a filthy farm boy, out to capture me? Plus, we both know you can’t kill me. You need me." Her brunette hair shattered across her shoulders and part of her face half blinding her.

"This may be so, but if you’re too big of a hassle we can always find someone else to serve the king." He said teasing her trying to make her give in.
"Okay if that’s the case I’ll just be going on my way. Thanks for the fight, but I really should be going." Amber Stone flaunted.

"Not on my watch!" Then he pulled the sword back and went for her side, she blocked it with a downward swing pulling up towards his shoulder blade. He ducked and went for her legs, which she avoided by jumping up in the air and swinging in a full circle colliding with his sword throwing it out of his hand and across the field. It landed in a tree across the way. Now he sat beckoning down backing himself up as she held the sword against his chest. He backed into a tree.

"Please Amber, spare me my life. Give me a second chance. I shall let you run; I can go back to the village and act as if I never found you. You can run, the guards won’t be able to find you, they aren’t quick enough. Just please Amber, please spare me." He pleaded as she laughed a wicked laugh.

"You really want me to let you go? If I let you go now you will report me and come back with help! I’m not stupid! You absurd little boy! They call you a knight? Sure your handsome, and you’re fighting skills aren’t bad for a beginner, but what did they expect? Did they want you to be my knight in shining armor?" Amber laughed. She was about to stab him in the heart when the fog horns sounded.

The horns in the village originally meant there was danger and everyone needed to stay inside their little stone houses, but nowadays it meant someone had spotted Amber Stone, the most deadly human being known to man. There was 10,000 gold piece reward for anyone who could take the famous Amber Stone into the castle. Ambers face went cold.

"You called them didn’t you? You dirty rotten scum bag!" Amber gasped half alarmed, Jasper smiled.
"After chasing you all these years you think I was just going to let you kill me? Don’t worry princess, you will be caught whether you kill me or not, so don’t waste your breath." The running of the guards could be heard in the distance. Amber glared at him, a glare of pure hatred, but yet one of the most beautiful sights you could ever imagine.

"This isn’t over Jasper Duran. I will be back, and now I have motive to kill. Just remember the Gem." And she was gone. The guards appeared shortly after, with any other person, he would have pointed the direction and they would have chased her down till they had no sign of her, but with Amber Stone, there was no point.
