Nothing Last Forever - Chapter 6

Not by any means, she really can’t take Lily. I thought to myself that just take anything or everything from me, just not Lily. My only sister, the only one I have left. Mama was pulling Lily from me. Lily is so powerless, not only because she can’t make the decision but also because she is enervated, so weak. She slept all day yesterday and all night. She still looks like she needs a whole lot of rest.

"Lidya! You better stop it right now, don’t make me get a belt because you are going to get it!" She warned.
"Do it! I don’t care. Lily is staying with me; she’s the only one I have left. She needs me" I cried some more.

"What in the world are you talking about? You have me, your Papa, and your kuya. Beside she won’t need you when Aunt Alma finally takes her, and you’ll eventually get use to her not being with you" she still trying to pull Lily.

"Ugh, you are so selfish! I can’t believe you are doing this. You never even fed us, so I did that. I work hard for our school, and food. You never did anything for us. You never provide anything for us. I have to provide for Lily and I. You were never home ever, and now you’re basically selling your own daughter to people for them to slave her. No, I don’t think so!" I blew up and pushed her.

"I am your mother, you can not talk to me that way" she slapped me.
"And that is when you are wrong again. Yes, you are my mother but did you ever acted like one? All the time you were gone, you said that you were working hard and looking for our food but all along you were at the street with your nasty habit, gambling!" I respond.
"I think you better get out of this house right now! You don’t deserve to be here! Out!" she screamed, and then pulled Lily from me.

"What is the difference anyways? Living here is like living in the streets too. So I’m not going to hesitate to leave this house and I’m taking Lily! You definitely don’t deserve to be a mother!" I took Lily, carried her and thankfully there was enough space for me to just escape from her and ran.

"Lidya, give her to me right now!" she tried chasing me.
