Also, it is advised that people who have had a history of kidney problems need to stay away from noni juice as its potassium levels are alarmingly high. Basically, normal potassium levels in blood are maintained by the kidneys. They do this by filtering surplus potassium from the blood, which is then eventually eliminated from the body. However, with kidneys not functioning properly, too much potassium is likely to accumulate in blood, resulting in hyperkalemia.

Also, too much intake of noni juice daily is not advisable as suggested in few reports. There have been cases, where in people have developed liver problems by drinking high amounts of noni juice. Excess consumption of noni-juice can be harmful, as it can cause herbal toxicity, which may lead to hepatitis. It won't be wrong to include that noni juice in excess can actually harm the liver. Thus, it is recommended that people who have earlier suffered from liver diseases should not drink noni juice. Thus, liver problem is considered to be one of the biggest noni juice side effects.

Drinking anything in excess is not good for health and this also holds true for noni juice. So, it is advised to drink it in small amounts (not more than 30 ml daily) to keep its harmful effects at bay. Most importantly, one has to first talk to a doctor before adding this juice to the diet. As claims of noni juice benefits are not supported by substantial evidence, it would be wrong to drink the juice without consulting a well qualified doctor.
