Non System Disk or Disk Error
When you start your windows computer, your system may stick in boot window and you may get the following error message:
"Non system disk or disk error"
After this error message, your system can’t work any more and you need to restart it. When you restart the system, the same error message comes again.
This error message is caused by the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) of your computer when the MBR or Master Boot Record of the primary partition of your hard drive is corrupted or missing. The same problem can also occur if the boot drive has been configured improperly in the BIOS. In these situations, the data stored on the partition may remain undamaged but you can’t access them.
To fix this issue, you need to repair the MBR. It can be done by reinstalling the operating system and building a fresh MBR.
But reinstalling the operating system is never safe as it requires formatting the hard drive and it deletes all the data stored on the particular partition of the drive. The situations can become more serious and lead to nightmare of data loss if you have stored all of your important data on primary partition or you are using dynamic partitions in your drive.
In these circumstances, you need to recover the data if lost data was very important for your business or organization. In order to recover the lost data, you need data recovery software. For this particular case, you can use Windows Data Recovery software.
