Nokia 6700 Classic - Reincarnation in Style and Performance

Released in May, 2009, the Nokia 6700 Classic is one of the latest 3G devices from Nokia. This phone borrows it's basic design from the Nokia 6300 which came out a couple of years ago and rightfully serves as an upgrade on the original.
Deriving it's looks from the previously released 6300 the latest Nokia 6700 Classic is aimed at people from a customer base who had bought the original 6300 under contract and had been looking for an upgrade for quite some time. To begin with, the 6300 was and still is a very decent phone; maybe somewhat antiquated now but loaded with some of the best available features of it's times that included a Class10 GPRS, Bluetooth, Email and a web browser. For people who have loved and adored the 6300, it is only possible that they will like the new 6700 Classic even better. It is a 3G unit capable of high-speed HSDPA at an amazing 10Mbps and HSUPA@2Mbps and is very moderately priced to offer good value for money. It can comfortably double up as a modem when used with a laptop. The phone has very smart looks and is presently available in attractive and sharp looking metallic colours of Silver, Matte and Black. At 116.5 grams, it's slightly heavier than it's predecessor, the 6300.

The display of this device is a 2.2 inches TFT screen with a 240 x 320 pixels resolution with 16M colours. Like any other upmarket mobile it is also equipped with an accelerometer sensor that facilitates UI auto-rotate. This one's a Class32 GPRS device loaded with a Class32 EDGE, that make it one of the best in it's class. One of the best features that you get along the 6700 Classic is the 5 mega pixel camera placed conveniently at the back. The camera has an auto-focus feature, provided along with an LED flash that comes real handy while taking shots in low-light conditions. While geo-tagging is not available, one can be satisfied by being able to upload videos directly from the phone to Ovi and Flickr.

Though the Nokia 6700 Classic lacks Wi-Fi, it is a GPS enabled handset. The receiver comes with A-GPS support and the phone has built-in Nokia Maps application. Internet can be accessed by using the built-in WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML web browser while the stereo FM radio can keep you amused when you are not really using it's quad-band GSM reception to communicate. And with Bluetooth and USB you are open to the world of fast and convenient data sharing between different devices. Some other interesting features that have been included in the ensemble are MP3/M4A/AAC/eAAC+/WMA player, Voice command/dial, Flash Lite 3, Email and IM.

The Nokia 6700 Classic comes loaded with an internal memory of 170 MB and a card slot is provided as well, where the same can be expanded up to 16GB. A 1GB microSD card comes along the phone in a standard package. This unit is powered by a standard Li-Ion battery(BL-6Q) that supports music play up to 20 hours in addition to a talk time of 4 hours and a standby time of 300 hours in 3G service.
