Nobody's Home - Prologue

This is a really touching story. It talks about what a homeless girl might face, struggles, break downs and at the end love.
Home... this word always brings a smile on my face. Home is our shelter, it's where the family is all united together in one place, with the beautiful morning breakfasts and sisters complaining about who is going to do the dishes today and the little brother who's minding his own business enjoying his food or the father who's holding the newspaper and acting like nothing is happening around him. That's what I call home. No troubles... nothing.

But as for me, I lost my family at the age of 8. In a blink of an eye they were all gone, I still remember and it hurts, since that day, my whole life changed. It showed me the other side of people I never really knew but what I faced and what I've been through changed everything. My family died in the incident of 9/11, they were all out and the building collapsed on them. I was at home studying for my test and the next thing I know I was at their funeral.

I had a loving mother, two adorable small twin sisters and a hardworking Dad who never failed to give us anything. The funeral was one of the most ugliest thing I have attended, I never want to go through it ever again. After the whole funeral thing, we were told that my dad didn't write a will... since he was too young and didn't think about death. So the fortune was given to my aunt, which is his unmarried 40 year old sister. The judge said that I will stay under the custody of my aunt till I turn 18 then I'm free to go wherever I want and whatever money is left from what dad gave us will be mine. My aunt was thrilled with the amount of money they had given her, and she spent it all in one year. Drinking and Gambling, she couldn't pay for my school expenses anymore, and started blaming me for ruining her life and that the reason my parents died was because of me the next thing she did was kicking me out of the house with no clothes, no money, nothing. I was only 14, and was still mourning over my parents death.

I tried telling the police but they thought I was joking and started laughing at me, I tried telling people but they all refused to hear. I tried going back to my aunt's house, she literally threw at me some bucks and my bag full of clothes. I only had 50 bucks and a couple of clothes and no pads or anything while I was on my period and it was the first time I get it.

I started sleeping in the local parks, and getting cheap food and changing in the local bathrooms. I woke up on a bench and used a bathroom, wash my face, brush my teeth with my hands and then walk around town, carrying my bag. No one cared. No one listened.

Until one day, it was about midnight... I was sitting on the benches when a car passed in front of me, it was a police car. I must admit that I was thrilled and happy that somebody finally noticed me!

"What are you doing here girl?" Asked the Cop with a heavy accent.
"I don't have a place to stay." I replied so innocently, so the kind Cop offered me his house to stay in and he told me I'd sleep in his daughters room then we'll solve the whole thing the next morning.

But the Cop who I thought was nice, raped me. He took me to a warehouse located in the woods and raped me. I was only 14 and never done it before... after the whole thing I became afraid of everyone and anyone. I started stealing and making my own living and trusted no one. I never saw my aunt again, it was like she disappeared in thin air! I wasn't actually raped just once, I was raped about 4 to 5 times. Men are too strong and I am vulnerable. I'm 18 right now, I'm still homeless... and here's my story...
