Instructions to Make No Sew Pillows

These days even a simple room decor can be made lively and bright, if a few colored cushions or pillows are thrown on the various furniture items, such as sofas, beds and chairs. An easy no sew pillow is the one which is heart-shaped. A heart-shaped pillow can be kept anywhere in the house, be it the living room, bedroom or even a kid's room. Here is an easy method to make the same.

Materials Required

• Fleece fabric
• Pair of scissors
• Tape measure
• Pillow form
• Chalk

Procedure

Step 1
Take the fleece and cut out two heart shapes from it. Make sure that the heart shapes are identical in shape but are of two different colors. The size of the heart should be around four inches more from all sides, than the size of the pillow that you want. For example, for a 18*12 inches pillow, the fleece should be cut in the size of 26*20 inches.

Step 2
Now take the chalk, and draw a heart on the fleece heart, which is four inches smaller than the fleece heart from all sides. Once you have done this, take the chalk and draw one inch wide lines, starting from the chalk heart to the edges of the fleece heart. These lines are necessary to make even fringes. Repeat this step on the other identical fleece heart too.

Step 3
Take both the fleece hearts, and keep them on top of one another, with the chalked side on the outward. Take the pair of scissors and cut the one inch wide fringes with it.

Step 4
Starting at the bottom, tie the fringes of both the hearts in knots in such a way that both the fleece hearts get joined. Keep on tying the knots till only about five six of them are left.

Step 5
Take the pillow form and stuff the heart shaped pillow with it. Make sure that the stuffing is just about enough, neither too less nor too more, so that the pillow can acquire a good, cuddly shape.

Step 6
Once the pillow form has been stuffed nicely, tie the remaining fringes into knots. This time instead of two, tie four fringes at a time so that the pillow form stuffed inside can be held together properly.

The same procedure can be used to make no sew pillows of different shapes, such as round, square, triangle and even star shaped. For kids' rooms, making a round pillow and then pasting artificial eyes, nose, mouth and mustaches on it, is a very good idea.
