No Longer Just Good Friends

Yet another love poem...
We've known each other for awhile
But lately you make me smile
I know you've dated my best friend
But I no longer can pretend
My feelings for you I know are real
I'm so glad that's also how you feel
I talk to you, without alarm
And I fall victim to your witty charms
Our first date is soon to be
And I dream of the moment you'll kiss me
I didn't realize it before,
But it's you I was looking for
I'm waiting until it's just you and me
Because we're no longer just best friends, you see
