Nicole Richie Single Again

The break-up was confirmed by Richie’s rep that said, "Nicole and Brody are no longer dating but remain friends." The two, who have known each other since childhood, began dating in August. For the past two months Richie and Jenner have been inseparable, but recently have been spotted going solo. They were last seen together a week ago at the West Hollywood club AREA opening. An eyewitness said, "They looked happy. They were kissing and cuddling." What a difference a week makes.

Sources say that the two have very different ideas of how they want to love their lives and that became the issue. Said the source, "Brody likes to go out a lot and doesn’t mind being photographed, but Nicole prefers to stay out of the press." Jenner was seen partying it up with The Hills stars Lauren "L.C." Conrad and Heidi Montag at Los Angeles club Shag on Monday. A source said, "They were taking pictures together and dancing. They all looked very friendly." L.C. is the former nemesis of Jenner’s ex-Kristin Cavallari from Laguna Beach.

As for Richie, she posted a message on her MySpace page on Wednesday that read, "I know there are rumors regarding my ‘break-up’ with Brody Jenner. The truth is, we were never really together. We hung out, and he’s a nice guy, but my heart was never in it. Anything further is just a cry for publicity." It was reported that Richie initiated the break-up, but they both agreed it was for the best. Said a source, "Nicole just wants to be single right now. She felt it was a mistake to jump into a relationship so soon after her break-up with AM." Richie was engaged to Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein for nine-months. The couple ended their engagement last December, briefly reconciled, and called it quits again in May.
