Nicole Richie Preggers!

It was rumored that Richie and Madden were expecting their first child together, but a number of sources are now saying that the rumors are true. A friend of Richie’s reportedly said, " She is extremely excited right now." Another source claims that Richie is twelve weeks along and that she told her mother Brenda and a few close friends that she was expecting after she took a pregnancy test back in May that came up positive.

Despite the recent rumors that the Good Charlotte frontman and the super skinny star of The Simple Life had split, it has been reported that Madden has been shopping for engagement rings. A source close to Madden said that he and his twin brother, Benji, and a couple of other friends recently went on a shopping excursion looking for an engagement ring for Richie. Allegedly both Richie and Madden’s families are overjoyed about the fact that they are expecting their first child. A source said, "Everyone’s happy, everyone’s good, everyone’s getting along." Madden’s older brother, Josh, even reportedly sang Richie’s praises recently saying, "Nicole is awesome. I would love for them to get married!"

The only downside could be if Richie faces jail time. She is slated to appear in court on July 11 to face DUI charges in connection with her December 2006 arrest. At the time of her arrest, Richie admitted that she had smoked marijuana and taken the painkiller Vicodin before getting behind the wheel. She faces 90 days to one year in jail because she was previously convicted of DUI in 2003.
