It has been reported that a book written by Nicole Richie, 26, is set to become a television series. The book, The Truth About Diamonds, is a story that seems to parallel Richie’s own life. The book is about a girl named Chloe Parker who is adopted by a famous musician when she is seven-years old. The girl grows up in a very privileged environment and has run ins with drugs, rehab, and the paparazzi. Something Richie herself knows a lot about.

Richie said, "I would definitely produce and definitely be in the show." She added, "I don’t know if I need to be the star of this show. I’ve got a lot going on right now." Richie and her boyfriend Joel Madden welcomed their first child, daughter named Harlow, six months ago. In addition to her new role as a busy mom, Richie has a few other projects in the works. She is set to guest star on NBC’s hit show Chuck this fall. She is also reportedly working on her next book, but she recently refused to discuss the subject of the book. She reportedly told E!, "I’m not telling you. It’s not finished." She has also announced that she is working on a jewelry, accessories, and sunglasses line called House of Harlow, which is set to debut in August 2008.

Richie was legally adopted by singer Lionel Richie when she was nine years old. She has been open about her drug abuse and said that she first smoked marijuana when she was 13. A year later she moved on to cocaine and by the time she was 19 she was injecting heroin. Richie had her fair share of legal problems, but has seemed to straighten herself out since announcing her pregnancy. She began dating Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden in 2006.
