Nicole Richie & Joel Madden to Marry

Richie is five-months pregnant with the couple’s first child, but they are reportedly in no rush to tie the knot. A source said, "She said she doesn’t want the baby to one day grow up and think she and Joel rushed to get married just because she got pregnant." The source added, "She doesn’t want to get married just to say she did it before the baby was born. She wants to do it on their own schedule. And it will be done because they are in love, not because they are up against some deadline." Oh and one other thing…she still needs to serve four days in jail.

Richie was sentenced to four days in jail stemming from her December DUI arrest. She was arrested December 11 after police were contacted that she was driving her SUV the wrong way on 134 Highway in California. When police made it to the scene Richie’s car was stopped facing the wrong way in a carpool lane and Richie was talking on her cell phone. She failed the field sobriety test and admitted to the officers that she had smoked marijuana and taken Vicodin before getting behind the wheel. She pleaded guilty to the DUI charge and must complete her sentence before September 28.

Richie and Madden have reportedly been talking about getting married since before she got pregnant. The two began dating last November, shortly after he split from singer Hilary Duff. There is talk that the wedding will take place at dad Lionel Richie’s estate in Bel-Air, but Richie has also been looking at other venues. She has said that BFF Paris Hilton will be in the wedding party.
