Nickelodeon Considers Special on Teen Sex

Nickelodeon is reportedly considering doing a special on teen sex and love since Spears announced that she is 12-weeks pregnant at the age of 16. Nickelodeon is reportedly talking with newswoman Linda Ellerbee about doing the special. She has discussed serious topics in the past with children and seems like a good candidate for the special. Ellerbee said, ""I think it’s important that something be done. But I think it'’ important that it be done in a measured way and not just to feed the beast of news stories." A spokesman for Nickelodeon did confirm that they were in discussion about the special, bit no final decision has been made.

Spears stars in Nickelodeon’s hit show Zoey 101. When Spears announced her pregnancy Nickelodeon released the following statement, "We respect Jamie Lynn’s decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn’s well being." Season four, which is the last season, of the popular series has reportedly already wrapped filming. No word on whether or not Nickelodeon will shelve the final season.

Jamie Lynn Spears confirmed her pregnancy Tuesday in an interview with OK! magazine. She said that she is 12 weeks along and has decided to keep the baby. She plans to raise the baby in Louisiana so "it can have a normal family life." The father is reportedly long time beau, Casey Aldridge. Aldridge’s uncle spoke to the media and denied rumors that the two young lovers were going to get married.
